"Donation Cards"How to extend generosity beyond your event

Like everything else, weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs have changing trends that you can take advantage of. When you think of trends, you may think of colors or centerpieces, but the newest trend in the world of events not only benefits the person throwing the event, but can make a difference to someone's life.

It is not uncommon for couples to not want a traditional registry or traditional gifts. Some people do not want to register at all, and some feel that they already have many of the necessities that they would ask for. The newest trend in weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs solves both of these problems.

Many people are including in their invitation a donation card. This card is an enclosure card (specifically a reception card) that provides your guests with information about making a donation in your name to a charity of your choice in lieu of gifts for your event.

All of the invitations that are offered by Invitation Consultants can be ordered with reception cards. The wording on these cards is fully customizable, so when ordering, you will be able to select the wording that you would like to be printed. The donation card could say that in the absence of gifts, you are asking that guests make a charitable donation to one of the charities that you support.

You will want to include the name, phone number, address and website of each charity that you choose. What charity that you choose should depend on which cause or causes are close to your heart. Most any cause that one can think of is represented by a charity, if not on a local level, then on a national level.

There are so many charities that could benefit from the generosity of the donations of your guests. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate homelessness by providing people with housing. The American Cancer Society seeks to combat cancer through medical research and support those inflicted with the disease. Another charity, the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, aims to prevent domestic violence in our homes and support the survivors. For animal lovers, the Humane Society seeks to prevent cruelty to animals and provides a safe environment for thousands of pets.

The toughest choice in your donation cards can be which charities to list. By choosing to use a donation card, you are choosing to make society a better place and truly make a difference for a person who needs help. The feeling that you will get from showing support for a worthy cause will be worth it. For this reason and many more, consider using a donation card for your next event.
