It's hard to believe November's here. Although I haven't even taken down my Halloween decorations yet, I have to admit that all of us here at Holiday-Cards-Store.com are starting to get pretty excited about the upcoming holidays. The day after Thanksgiving has traditionally marked the kickoff to the holiday season, and that can only mean one thing... holiday shopping! I wanted to do my part to help prepare you. Think of the following as a retail personality test.
1. Which song lyric best describes your personality?
A: It's the eye of the tiger it's the thrill of the fight, risin' up to the challenge of our rival. And the last known
survivor stalks his prey in the night. And he's watchin' us all in the eye of the tiger.
B: I've got no deeds to do, no promises to keep. I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep. Let the morning
time drop all its petals on me. Life I love you, all is groovy.
2. What is your idea of a good workout?
A: Anything that requires me to push myself past my limit. I love a challenge. Also-the more competitive the
better!
B: Walking from my computer to the kitchen to grab a snack. Dancing in my car when it is stopped at a red
light.
3. Which of these creatures do you relate to the best?
A: Eagle - I can see what I want from a mile away and grab onto it with my talons. I hate to be confined, but I will squeeze
into a tight space to capture my prey if needed.
B: Turtle - I like to move at my own pace. I don't like to be rushed. I also like to have a nice quiet place I can retreat to
that's away from people.
4. When do you like to start your day?
A. I get up way before the sun does. I get more done by 8:00 am than most people do all day. Coffee? Who
needs coffee? Ambition is MY caffeine!
B. Definitely sometime before noon (unless it's a weekend). I don't want to give up my late night
television-that Conan rocks! I'll get there when I get there. Five more minutes!
5. What are your favorite stores?
A. Target, Best Buy, Macy's, Home Depot, Payless
B. Amazon.com, eBay.com, Overstock.com, CrateandBarrel.com, Piperlime.com
Your Shopping Style!
Mostly A's:
Black Friday Fanatic
For you, there's no other option than to shop on the official kickoff of the holiday season. The day before, while everyone
else is busy eating turkey and relaxing, you are spreading out the ads in front of you and strategically planning your bargain
attack. You're a door-busting dynamo of the highest order. You thrive in a hectic environment. Darwin would marvel at
your ability to survive the shopping mayhem. You're not above camping outside the night before if that's what it takes to
get what you want. They may call it Black Friday, but you'll be saving some major green.
Mostly B's:
Cyber Monday Maven
In this technologically advanced age, it's only fitting to have a ceremonial kickoff to the online holiday shopping season as
well. You laugh at those foolish people who leave the comfort and warmth of their own homes to shop. You love taking
your time and not having to fight the crowds. Why waste Thanksgiving getting ready to throw yourself to the retail wolves
when you can find fabulous deals on the internet? There have been claims that Cyber Monday is a media buzz term, but
you'd like to think of it as a new tradition. Who needs the stress of Black Friday? Not you-you're a frontiersman!
I'm a Cyber Monday Maven myself, but then again I DO work for an internet based company, so it's only fitting. No matter
which holiday shopping style you are, don't get so caught up in finding the perfect present for Uncle Joe that you forget to
buy holiday greeting cards. Everyone looks forward to receiving mail this time of year. Keeping in touch (and in some
case reconnecting) with family and friends this time is perhaps the most beautiful gift of all. Stay tuned for a fun overview
of some options you may want to consider to send to everyone on your list this year.
