The online retailer is celebrating America Recycles Day and switching to 100% recycled paper.
On October 4, InvitationConsultants.com made the switch to 100 percent post-consumer fiber materials. All of the invitations, stationery and paper gifts printed in their Tampa facility meet federal procurement guidelines and are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified. The company - a leading online retailer of invitations, stationery and gifts - has featured a handful of products made of partially recycled paper for a few years.
"Being in the paper industry forces you to be environmentally responsible," said InvitationConsultants.com President, Allison De Meulder. "The future of our business is dependent upon our actions of today."
In honor of this "green" change, InvitationConsultants.com is planning to celebrate the upcoming America Recycles Day - held annually on November 15. On that day, the company will be asking the Bay area to recycle along with them.
Tampa Bay residents are invited to bring their paper products to the company's office at 12175 West Linebaugh Avenue in the Westchase area of Tampa. InvitationConsultants.com will collect the paper products (specifically stationery, cards, phonebooks, junk mail, catalogs, newspapers and magazines), as well as provide a 2012 mini-calendar to everyone who brings materials to recycle. The calendar is, as expected, printed on 100% recycled paper. It is 4 x 9.25 inches, printed on both the front and the back, and is intended to replace the daily "tear-off" desk calendars that frequent many offices.
Within the InvitationConsultants.com office, employees are encouraged to keep paper waste to a minimum. Nearly all communication is shared electronically and the paper that is used, is recycled.
This might sound unusual for a company in the printing industry, but it is business as usual at this Tampa office, De Meulder said.
