The purpose of these cards is to provide useful information for out-of-town guests that are coming to your wedding either where you live or at a destination wedding location.
Whether you have 25 or 250 out-of-town guests coming to the wedding, be sure to order travel/accommodation cards to make their trip as wonderful as possible; as they have traveled and made time in their schedule to make your event a priority.
The following information will be useful to include on these cards:
The closest airport(s) or train station(s) that guests may arrive to. Also useful if you are in a rural or suburban area away from a major city, is a list of airlines that fly to your regional airport. Any other transportation information may be included, such as ground transportation options like rental car companies of choice, private car companies from the airport or public transportation.
Hotel and Accommodations
Other information to include is a list of hotel(s) that are in close proximity to either your house or the ceremony or reception location. Brides and grooms may reserve blocks of rooms at certain hotels and secure special rates. These hotel(s) should be listed along with the special number to call and the reservation code to receive the discounts for your group. Adding the price or price range for the hotel(s) you have listed is also helpful for your guests. Be sure to add any dates that are of importance, such as a "reserve by this day" date.
Also, include any other information that would help guests to make reservations speedily, such as, "at this time of year there is a large music festival in our town and rooms book up quickly, so please reserve as soon as possible."
Some brides and grooms who are having destination weddings
have travel agents involved. Including the travel agent name and number will allow the guests to contact the agent.
Guests also appreciate when brides and grooms include local information, such as theme parks, recommended restaurants, tours, historical places and other places or areas to visit.
