About the Baptism
To those outside of the faith or who don’t follow, there can be questions about the significance of a baptism or christening. It’s not that people don’t want to know or don’t care, but they may really legitimately not know and therefore have plenty of questions to ask. So you can use the invitations and the occasion and day itself to help explain why this is a significant occasion and why you want to make this such an important day for your family moving forward.
Quite simply put, the significance of a baptism or christening is all about bringing this child into the church or faith. This is a wonderful, happy, and very memorable day where they are baptized into the faith and therefore recognized as an individual in that church. This is the first of many sacraments in some cases, but a very important one as it marks the beginning of their journey. Many believe that the parents are giving their faith or religion to the child through the baptism and the important gathering of close people in their lives.
