Origins of Marriage
In the Christian religion, marriage first originated back at the creation of man and woman. When God created the universe, He created everything in it. He then, on the final day of creation, made man. However, upon realizing the loneliness of man and the need for a companion, God created woman from man’s rib, and thus the union of two souls as one, or marriage, was formed. There are a lot more details to it, though, that can be discovered upon deeper investigation into the Bible.
