When it comes to weddings, sometimes the most stressful parts are the smallest ones, such as trying to plan the rehearsal dinner, for instance. Rehearsal dinners can be very tough to get together. Some of the people in the wedding party might not be in town yet. The dress might not be fully altered. The groom might be sick. There are plenty of things that make this a difficult ordeal. Luckily, there are a few tips that can make things a little easier.
Probably the most important part of the rehearsal dinner is getting the word out to everyone, and getting it out on time. Make sure to get those invitations sent to the proper people early enough to give them a good amount of notice. Clearing schedules and moving things around last minute is not something that most people want to do. So, ensuring that everyone knows the time, place, and date well ahead of time will make it a little easier to get them all there at once.
Sometimes, parents who might be involved in the wedding have a hard time making it to the rehearsal because they cannot find anyone to watch their children. To avoid this problem, find a babysitter ahead of time who will be available on site at the dinner or at someone’s home nearby. This person, or people, can provide childcare for all of the kids in one place, making it much more convenient for the parents.
If the big day comes and things just are not working out as expected, don’t fret. The reason it is called a rehearsal is because it is just that—practice. It is perfectly okay to not have everything in order right then and there. Relax; let everything work itself out, and the wedding day will go off without a hitch.
