An essential part of every wedding is the Rehearsal dinner, where after the rehearsal of the wedding, a dinner is planned. Traditionally, the rehearsal dinner was organized by the groom and the groom's family. Now, rehearsal dinners can be hosted by anyone that would like to do so. These days, rehearsal dinners are far more than a boring event. It can be as casual as a barbecue or as formal as a sit down dinner at a five-star restaurant. It's all up to you! Brides and grooms love to bring out their style through a restaurant choice. For example, their love of Mexican food, their Asian culture, the seafood restaurant where the bride and groom had their first date. Any of these options are acceptable for a rehearsal dinner.

Many wonder who should be invited to the rehearsal dinner. Some brides choose to keep it a small event, choosing to include only the wedding party and their guests, and family. Others choose to make their rehearsal dinner a larger event, including all out-of-town guests and friends. The practice of including all guests from out of town is becoming increasingly popular, if they are already in town for the wedding, so they are not left in a strange city without anything to do. This decision is left completely up to the couple and their family. There is no right or wrong way to have your rehearsal dinner, so if you would like to keep it a small, intimate affair, that is completely up to you. There are many other ways to include out of town guests in your wedding, even if you would like a small rehearsal dinner. Many couples who would like to have a small rehearsal dinner decide to hold it two nights before the wedding, so they are free to entertain the out of town guests the night before the wedding. Another option is to have a welcome reception for out-of-town guests at one of the hotels where the majority of the guests are staying, if not all guests can be invited to the rehearsal dinner.

Another commonly asked question is if invitations are necessary. The answer is that invitations are a very easy and informative way to let your guests know if they are invited to the rehearsal dinner, and if so, the details of the event. Because it is acceptable to either have a large or small rehearsal dinner, many guests may wonder if they are actually invited. Because many rehearsal dinners involve meeting at the ceremony location, and then going to a separate place to have dinner, an invitation is the perfect way to let your guests know where they need to be, and what is going to happen. Invitation Consultants offers many rehearsal dinner invitations; traditional, unique, destination wedding or other themes.

Many families planning for a rehearsal dinner wonder what is actually supposed to happen. The answer is that there is nothing in particular that HAS to happen. Typically, the rehearsal dinner is a great time for the bride and groom to toast their loved ones. This is a great time to express gratitude to guests and loved ones for their support that led to the wedding. Also, guests can toast the bride and groom. The maid of honor and the best man usually do stand up and toast the bride and groom. These speeches tend to be more informal and funny. You do not have to put a lot of thought into what you say. Sometimes it is best to speak spontaneously. Another common practice at the rehearsal dinner is giving thank you gifts for participating in your wedding party. Even a simple thank you or acknowledgement for someone who has contributed to your wedding is appreciated.

The rehearsal dinner is a great way for two families to meet and mingle before your wedding day. It is meant to be fun, and to honor the couple before their big event. The new rehearsal dinner can be as big or as small as you want. This is also a great opportunity for the bride and groom to relax with the people closest to them before their wedding. So, make it as modern or as traditional as you want, because it is your time to bring your families together!
