"Invitation Consultants CEO Named BusinessWoman of the Year Finalist"
TAMPA, Fla. - July 10, 2013 - Allison De Meulder, Chief Executive Officer of Tampa-based invitation, stationery and gift retailer Invitation Consultants, Inc. has been named a finalist in the Tampa Bay Business Journal's 2013 BusinessWoman of the Year awards.
De Meulder, who founded the company in 1999, is a finalist in the Entrepreneur category. She was previously included in the Tampa Bay Business Journal's lists of "30 Under 30" and "40 Under 40" of top professionals in the area.
The company was originally a one-woman show before De Meulder moved to a web-based format and hired additional team members to help provide customer service. Since 2001, the company now employs in-house customer service, creative and production teams. In recent years, Invitation Consultants has launched a wholesale line, Red Leaf Papers, and opened a Design Studio, where local customers can meet with a consultant to personalize their invitations, or shop for non-personalized gifts.
"I am honored to be nominated in a category that I have spent the past 14 years dedicated to: Entrepreneurship," said De Meulder. "I am grateful to be nominated with four other successful women. This is a wonderful award that the Journal gives out each year and to be a part of the process this year is truly icing on the cake."
The award ceremony will be held August 23, 2013 at the Innisbrook Golf Resort in Palm Harbor, FL. The evening gala will be black-tie and feature a 1920s theme, inspired by The Great Gatsby.
